CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CUPS

If you're looking for something fun & different to eat, then Chocolate Mousse Cups can be the perfect treat for you. They are homemade and perfect party food. They look cute and can work great for Valentine's Day dinner.

As Valentine Day is just around the corner, I was thinking of making something special. And these Chocolate Mousse Cups were on top of my list. When I tried making them, they turned out really well. So here's the recipe for this delicious sweet dish, along with important tips to remember.

These cups taste awesome and you can use them with anything. You can add a mousse of your choice (I have added chocolate mousse). You can add berry stuffing. Even simple ice-cream also goes great. I have tried to make it a little healthier, so I have used Avocado Chocolate Mousse. It is creamy and delicious, and you won't feel the difference. Try my 5- minute Pistachio and Cranberry Chocolate Bark that is so easy to make.

TIPS TO REMEMBER

  • You can melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or in the Instant Pot.
  • I have used semi-sweet chocolate chips. These work great for the recipe. You can also use white chocolate chips. They look beautiful.
  • You can use water balloons or regular balloons. If you're using a regular balloon then blow till it is 1-2 diameter in size.
  • Before putting chocolate on the balloons, don't forget to spray some cooking oil. That way when you pop the balloon, you can easily remove the balloon from the chocolate.
  • Chill the cups for 2-3 hours. If cups are not chilled enough then you might leave fingerprints there.
  • Add the mousse in cups before serving and garnish with berries.

HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CUPS

  1. Melt the chocolate chips either in the microwave or in the Instant Pot. You can also add some cocoa powder or butter to the recipe. Let it rest for a couple of minutes until the chocolate is warm and not hot.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Make 4-6 dollops of chocolate on the parchment paper using a spoon or icing bag.
  3. Blow the balloons till they are 1-2 diameter in size. Wash and dry them using a paper towel. Then evenly spray some cooking oil on the balloons.
  4. Dip each balloon in the bowl of the melted chocolate until it is properly coated. Then place the balloons over the chocolate dollops on the baking sheet.
  5. Chill the prepared cups in the fridge for 2-3 hours or until they are molded in shape. Take the tray out of the fridge & pop the balloon using a knife or scissors. Remove the balloon from the cups carefully without breaking the cups.
  6. Add chocolate mousse (or any other flavored mousse) in the cups and garnish with some fresh berries, mint leaves, or chocolate. Chill the cups for few more hours before serving.
